SOLIDARITY MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT OF COVAAAGH
The Cocoa Value Addition Artisans Association of Ghana (COVAAAGH), the mouthpiece of the local artisanal cocoa processors in Ghana's cocoa industry, warmly congratulates the Chamber of Cocoa Marketers on its establishment as a unifying platform for stakeholders across Ghana’s cocoa value chain.
The formation of the Chamber is timely and important. Ghana’s cocoa industry can achieve its full potential only when farmers, licensed buying companies, traders, processors, exporters, artisanal manufacturers, service providers, government institutions and development partners work together with a shared vision. By creating a common platform for dialogue, coordination and advocacy, the Chamber can help address fragmentation, strengthen partnerships and promote policies that benefit every segment of the cocoa industry.
COVAAAGH particularly welcomes the Chamber’s commitment to bringing the entire cocoa value chain together. We believe this approach will support local processing, create avenues for accessing cocoa beans for processing, drive product innovation, create jobs, and increase consumption of made-in-Ghana cocoa products. It will also strengthen efforts to ensure that Ghana retains a greater share of the value generated from its cocoa resources.
As an association representing cocoa value-addition artisans and small-scale processors, COVAAAGH pledges its solidarity and readiness to collaborate with the Chamber. We look forward to working together to advocate for improved access to cocoa beans and semi-finished products, appropriate financing, technical support, market opportunities and an enabling policy environment for local value addition.
We wish the leadership and members of the Chamber of Cocoa Marketers every success. May the Chamber become a strong, inclusive and respected voice that advances cooperation, sustainability and shared prosperity across Ghana’s cocoa value chain.
